Why so many seniors buy a policy

A funeral, burial or cremation, and a headstone commonly run into the thousands of dollars, and costs vary a lot by region and choices made. Without a plan in place, that bill often falls on whoever is left to handle it, sometimes on short notice and often on a credit card.

Some buyers also want to leave a little cash cushion behind — enough to cover a final medical bill, a small debt, or just to avoid burdening family during an already hard time. The goal is usually peace of mind, not building wealth.
