Most Medicare Advantage plans include Part D drug coverage, but each plan has its own list of covered drugs (a formulary) and its own pricing tiers — the same medication can cost very differently from one plan to the next. Always check that your specific prescriptions are covered before enrolling, not just that the plan 'includes drug coverage.'
One real advantage of Medicare Advantage: unlike Original Medicare alone, it comes with an annual out-of-pocket maximum. Once you hit that cap, the plan generally covers 100% of covered services for the rest of the year. The cap amount varies by plan, so compare it directly.
