Controls that don't require reading glasses

Some newer SUVs have moved climate and audio controls entirely into a touchscreen menu, which can be genuinely hard to operate at a glance or with less nimble fingers. Others keep large physical knobs and buttons for the functions used most often — temperature, volume, defrost.

Neither approach is inherently better, but you should sit in the vehicle and actually operate the controls before deciding, not just look at the screen. A rear-view camera with clear, high-contrast guidelines is worth checking too, since some displays are harder to read in bright sunlight than others.
